Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 23, 2026

These Terms are a contract between you and Syntrixo ("we", "us"), the operator of Oncethen at oncethen.com (the "Service"). The operator's full identification (name, tax ID and address) is in the legal notice, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service, creating an account or buying a subscription you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

Oncethen offers short history lessons told as stories, quizzes, learning tracks and a personalised daily plan based on the answers you give in our questionnaire. It is intended for general education and entertainment and does not lead to any qualification or academic credit.

Lessons are produced with the help of automated tools, including artificial intelligence, and each lesson must pass a fact-check and an editorial review before it is published. We work to keep lessons accurate, but history involves interpretation and errors can occur. If you spot one, tell us at [email protected] and we will review it.

2. Eligibility and accounts

3. Subscriptions, automatic renewal and cancellation

Access to the lessons requires a paid subscription. The plans are:

Prices are charged in euro to customers in the euro area and in US dollars elsewhere, at the same figures, and are total prices including any applicable VAT. Your bank may apply a currency conversion.

4. Right of withdrawal and refunds

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. The lessons are digital content available immediately. At checkout you are asked to expressly request immediate access and to acknowledge that, once access has started, you lose the right to withdraw for the period you paid for. You may still cancel at any time to stop future renewals.

Refund requests are handled as set out in the Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that you have under mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. By subscribing you authorise us and our payment processor to charge the first payment and each renewal to your payment method. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and suspend access until it succeeds.

6. Your data

We process your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

7. Intellectual property

The lessons, quizzes, illustrations, text and software are owned by Syntrixo or its licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial learning only.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, add or remove lessons and features. If we withdraw a feature that is central to your subscription, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the current period.

10. Limitation of liability

Apart from the obligations set out in these Terms and any rights you have under consumer law, the Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of data, and our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country; if you live in Spain, the courts of your place of residence have jurisdiction. Before starting any legal action, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the matter; official complaint forms are available on request.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will notify you by email or with a notice on the site at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
